Moonshine, The Man in the Moon
There are legends in cultures across the world that speak of a Man in the Moon. This man is said to be everything from a god to a young boy gathering sticks who wandered much too far from home. The Uktena, who follow all mysteries through the dark to their answers, know the truth of this enigmatic being.
The Man in the Moon is a lesser Incarna, the little brother of Phoebe the Lambent Lady and Incarna of the Moon. It is the Man in the Moon who carries Phoebe's light to the darkest corners of the world and protects those who would travel under the rays of Luna. He is a spirit closely attuned to the Wyld, and so he delights in banishing the darkness of the Wyrm whenever he can.
In his true form, Moonshine is a handsome man of indeterminent age with pale, luminescent skin, silver eyes, and hair and beard the color of lapiz lazuli.
He wears light traveling clothes and a cloak made of Phoebe's moonsilver which reflects the light of his latern in all directions. The lantern he carries to spread his sister's light is also made of the moon's fair silver and shines bright from the orb of white moonlight within. He uses this lantern to create new moon bridges and paths throughout the Umbra and to strengthen those that already exist.
A patron of travelers and a wanderer himself, Moonshine often takes the form of a glowing white rabbit with lapiz lazuli colored eyes for speed and ease of travel across the stars. The third form he has taken in visions to his worshippers is a full, blue corn moon radiant in all its fury and glory for the full
moon alone casts the brightest light to banish the dark.
Totem of War and Wisdom
At times, though somewhat rarely, the Man in the Moon will take those Garou daring enough to find him as his own children. As a totem, the Man in the Moon is a patron of War, for he banishes the night with the light of the moon, and of Wisdom for he is the son of Luna whose journeys across creation have granted him much knowledge of the world's secrets.
The Uktena were the tribe to discover the Man in the Moon first for they did not fear to tread the most dangerous and faintest of moonpaths which lead into the darkest places to find him, and he is more likely to take a pack who includes one under his wing. Moonshine also favors the Ragabash for their shared heritage of being misunderstood and unknowable. No pack has ever won his patronage without the presence of one of Gaia's Tricksters.
