Jay I recommend we figure out a better way to handle all fear based abilities like you can spend wp to remove turns of it or something so its not so... Boring, the problem is with so many players its going to be incredibly hard to watch tons of dice rolling as you run the opposite way.
Even if its as minor as you can spend wp to stay in place and not move (And they dont stop you from defending yourself IF attacked) would would really cut down on the issues.

- Mindblock protects the werewolf against Kindred using Disciplines to make direct mental attacks (eg: Dementation) or make attempts to control the Garou's mind (eg: Dominate), as well as more insidious psychic assaults such as mind-reading (Auspex 4; Telepathy), mentally implanting illusions (Chimerstry 5; Horrid Reality) or possession (Dominate 5)
- Adaptation can be used to resist Quietus, Thanatosis or other Disciplines that inflict poison and disease.
- Reason's Grasp can be used to protect against attacks with Dementation.
- Resist Temptation can be used to resist Dominate and other supernatural means of coercion.
- The Rite of Cleansing when used on vampires inflicts agonising pain (most would describe it as if their blood was on fire), but does not remove their Wyrm taint (if they possess any) or remove the Curse of Caine.
When used on Ghouls it inflicts the same pain upon them, but with the benefit of rendering their blood inert and effectively "de-ghouling" them without subjecting them to the usual withdrawal symptoms. This Rite inflicts the same pain on Revenants and Dhampirs, but cannot be used to "de-ghoul" them.

After having a more in-depth discussion regarding Fear based abilities, the rest of the ST team and myself have come up with some solutions regarding helping those who may be on the receiving end of these powers during combat, to still engage in the game and have character development and story, instead of sitting about bored out of their minds awaiting rounds to end.
As many of you know, there is rarely one one Storyteller on at any given time. We may not all be IC, or may be at work, or what have you, but we're here. If, during an event, there are two or more Storytellers present, and someone's character is hit with some form of Fear inducing power, we are doing away with that you are simply afraid, and run away from whatever it is that has made you afraid.
Instead, we will be exploring with you the essence of fear. You are a Garou, a creature of the night which has inspired centuries of folklore regarding you as a terror against the mundane humans. You have been the subject of Inquisitions along with the other supernatural creatures of the night. You are the claws in the darkness, filled with Gaia's holy rage to destroy the minions of Weaver and Wyrm that would threaten her continued existence. What is mere fear[/b] to such a creature?!
That is what we will find out. One of the Storytellers whom is not the main event Storyteller for that particular event will be pulling you aside into a side channel. Perhaps you have fled to the Umbra, or perhaps you are simply imagining things. Regardless, to you, the root of your fears, all of your insecurities, the things that keep you awake at night or send chills down your spine before you flip the light switch in a room will be explored. When you are hit with a power of fear, you are not simply afraid. The user of these gifts is reaching deep within your mind and soul and bringing the things which you fear most to the very forefront of your mind. Perhaps you will face down a spirit representing that fear within you, earning a small foothold back to your sanity and peace of mind with its defeat, growing more self confident as you begin to realize that this particular fear has no power over you. Perhaps you will see hallucinations of what you fear most playing out before your very eyes, driving you nearly to insanity and stoking that Rage deep within your heart before you can overcome what has so gripped your faculties.
This will provide an excellent way for you to get in good, developed, character development roleplay with one of the Storytellers, helping you learn more about your characters and helping your characters learn about themselves.
If there is only one Storyteller on that is active, and not busy with real life if they're on during work hours or such, an avenue which is rarely explored is the Play by Post forums. If you get hit with a fear effect, write it up in a post on there! What did your character see? What kind of spirit did you have to prove yourself against, conquering it as it came to feed off of the emotions and gain its energy from your momentary weakness? Depending on how well written the piece is, how well it displays your character growth, event XP for your Play by Post journal of being hit with a fear effect will be awarded to you.
If there are any questions regarding how this will work, feel free to ask me in channel or make a post here, whichever suits your particular fancy.
