On the left hand side of the Configuration Window, you will see the rule filters. Check these every now and again for redundant or invalid rules.
It's very similar to the venerable "Spybot S&D" on Windows (the "TeaTimer" functionality, now apparently called "Live Protection": ).
I'm much less trusting of free software like most ad-blockers where I have to wonder how they're really making their money.
You are right but it's likely most people wasted a few minutes reading about it before discovering this?
While the Trend Micro researchers specifically mentioned Gatekeeper as one of the protections the EXE may be designed to bypass, Thomas Reed, director of Mac offerings at Malwarebytes, said definitively that there's no such bypass taking place. Patrick Wardle, a macOS security expert and chief research officer at Digita Security, agreed. They say there's no bypass because the EXE's main delivery mechanism is a standard machO binary that Gatekeeper inspects and will block if it's unsigned or has a revoked certificate.
Now, you could edit your hosts file to block pretty much anything. I find that cumbersome and annoying. Plus, there's no monitoring to add your own personal favorites. That's where Little Snitch comes in!

The latter functionality is essential for various reasons like spyware and privacy. I still get the occasional popup, but now they're limited almost exclusively to newly installed apps that I'm running for the first time. That's still an eye-opener: no, I don't see a need for a calculator to connect to Google Analytics. Deny! Since you've already submitted a review for this product, this submission will be added as an update to your original review. You dismissed this ad. almost too good Little Snitch works in the same vein as a firewall, but the difference is that instead of restricting connections from entering, it restricts connections and data from leaving.
