(OOC Note: This Rite takes place the first night out of the full moon phase. This thread was placed here in case anyone wished to do a little song and dance for the Rite, giving everyone a chance to participate. This ritual begins shortly after the sun sets, and it begins to get dark.)
A large clean white cloth has been placed in a clearing between the center of the Caern and the cabins. Around the cloth are small bowls of charcoal buring Frankincense. Between each small bowl are small myrrh annointed white candles, creating a circle around the cloth.
Nailah circles, dressed only in a thin white linen slip of a gown, eyes kholed black, lips the same color. Her features look gaunt as she takes on the appearance of the dead, her light grey eyes even more striking and predatory in nature. Focused and unfocused as the gauntlet seems just a bit more thin in the area she circles.
Humming to herself, she carefully lights each candle and creates the circle around the untouched cloth, weighted down by scattered animal bones and crushed herbs. When she is satisfied the veil has grown thin. She kneels before the circle. Turning her head up and lifting her arms out at her sides, reciting the words upwards towards the clear sky.
"Time has passed, the Wheel has turned.
It is time for you Ryan Nordmark, kin and son of Fenrir to move on.
Have no fear of death, for beyond death there is Valhalla.
Valhalla, where Fenris waits for you,
calling to his Get and sharpening the weapons that will win final conflict.
For each of you that falls, Ragnarok comes one moment closer.
Do not fear Ragnarok. Instead, prepare for it.
Know that Ragnarok is your destiny and the final time when Jormangundr will fall before our might.
You will walk hand in hand with the Lord and Lady
and with your ancestors who came before you.
Great Mother, welcome Ryan
back into your womb.
And Great Fenris welcome him back
into your divine instruction.
Let him come to you and
know that he has been blessed
by your gracious gift of Life.
Let him come into your Divine Love,
and let him know
that he has left behind a life of legacy,
that he shall be remembered and loved.
As he enters Valhalla,
wrap him in your loving arms,
and welcome him back home.
Let him speak to the Ancient Ones
to learn the greater mysteries
that lie beyond the veil.
Give him the strength to take these final steps,
and allow him to do so with peace and dignity.
Those of us left behind
shall indeed mourn him death,
but we shall also know
that his Soul and Spirit
is coming back
to Great Mother and Great Father,
and that he shall be made whole again.
We shall cry, but we shall also laugh,
for we shall celebrate the Life
that had been given to Ryan
And let him also know
that as we now merry part,
that we shall also merry meet again.
And we now, with these candles
respect the flame of Ryan's life,
and though these candle flames shall die out,
we know that Ryan shall live on,
and his flame shall never cease to burn,
and we also know that he shall be reborn anew.
Take him by the hand and
guide him back into your heart,
for this is what is right and just.
Let him walk unerringly
down the path that leads to Valhalla.
This is our will and so mote it be.
Amen and Amen."
Nailah will remain kneeling by the circle for the entirety of the evening, if anyone else presents themselves to give the dead their due she will not acknowledge or respond to them.
